The Latest Elevator Pitch – the “Wow Statement”

Ever since we began talking openly about GlobalTmail last year, we found it so difficult to craft a brief explanation about the company that can be expressed in just 20 to 30 seconds in a way that most people will (a) understand it, and (b) say something like “Wow! that sounds great!”.  We referred to this short description as the “Elevator Pitch, or the “Snap” and now we’re beginning to call it our “Wow Statement.”  This is because we needed to say something to which most people would respond with something like “Wow, that’s neat!”.  We’re using an acronym to help us remember what it’s all about.  The acronym SIAMES-CTC (pronounce it “Siamese see tee see”).  This helps us remember the 9 different services most people use with the Internet and their cell phones (Search, Instant messaging, Auction sites, Matching sites, Email, Social Networking, Coupons, Texting and Classified Ads).

To be effective, the Wow Statement had to meet at least these 3 criteria:

1. Very short, only around 30 seconds to say the whole thing.
2. Easy for everyone to understand, remember and repeat to others
3. Introduce at least one or two concepts that seem fresh, new and … “Wow-ish”

I think we’ve finally got it!  See if you can remember and repeat the statment in the box below better than other descriptions of the past, and let me know!  We’re calling this the “Wow Statement”.  Use when anyone asks:  “So, does GlobalTmail do, anyway?” . . .

There are 9 basic things most people do online: Search Instant Messaging Auction Matching Email Social Networking Classifieds Texting Coupons We let you access & control these things on a single page.  We also integrate with social networks, IM & cell phones so when something important is posted, you get an instant alert on your phone by voice or text, or online through the social networks, making this the most complete way to stay current in “real time” on everything you do!
