Today we’ll conduct the first test of our GroupCaller service. Although we still have a lot of development remaining for the user interface that will allow you to conduct your own calling campaigns, we’ll begin using these systems right now for the purpose of supporting our marketing efforts. I expect to announce that limited functionality will be available for all Clients within the next week or two. That means we’ll be able to make calls (for a fee) to your Groups or to the general membership but you won’t be able to set up the calls yourself until the user interface is completely finished and tested. We’ll run a manual system for awhile under which you’ll be able upload and/or record your message, but the calling list and the calling functions will have to be managed by staff here at GlobalTmailTM.
I’ll be recording the first message today and using our system to call all active members in the GlobalTmail database. I’ll be reminding people that tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the big bonus for Ports when signing up for the Silver, Gold or Platinum memberships. After that the bonus will be greatly reduced, although the larger port calculations will remain in place for the higher class of memberships.
We view today’s initial calling effort as a significant benchmark in our development progress. In fact, we’re looking forward to 2011 as being the first year in which we generate sales large enough to exceed our operating and development costs. This is, of course, the “real” benchmark of progress!
