I learned a lot by running the test campaign. My bottom line reaction is this: WOW! The GroupCaller system will pull results even better than I had hoped. I’ve got two pie charts here that give two sets of data for the 5 days we made calls on 6 phone lines. The first one contains RAW data, which means “everything” that happened. Specifically, we had problems getting a dial tone on many calls… 12,372 out of the 27,005 total times we dialed the phone. That’s TERRIBLE, and it’s the result of a known problem: Mixing old technology with new technology. We know how to fix the problem and we’re doing it this weekend.
To put it in simplest terms, the problem is fixed with MONEY. We were very fortunate to get a commitment on Thursday from one of our Board Members to provide the funds necessary for this upgrade so we wasted no time in preparing the software, the hardware and working with two new vendors who are assisting in this project. Jeff and I are working overtime this weekend to prepare to implement all the upgrades on Monday. As you’ll see from this article, upgrading the GroupCallerTM system is an absolute necessity to provide Associates with enough interested people so that sales come much more easily and quickly.
We’re upgrading both software and hardware and also beginning to use a new VoIP account, which is with a major wholesale provider of VoIP services. By going with a commercial provider of VoIP who ONLY provides accounts for phone companies and major users of phone lines, we are upgrading to a service that is geared to handle the kind of volume we can throw at them (millions of calls per day, eventually). In short, we knew we had these issues, but wanted to see whether the anemic results from using our system BEFORE it was completely ready for “prime-time” would still yield decent results. Answer: YES!
As you can see in the first pie chart, the biggest section is ‘NO DIAL TONE’. Of course, this greatly skews the entire picture and all the results we’re trying to get. It means our system resources were largely wasted during the test campaign, due to known technical issues. It greatly reduced the number of actual leads we got each day. It also “burns” the list we’re using by wasting nearly half of all the numbers we’re trying to call. Clearly we cannot run a campaign like this, and we won’t. Remember, this was only a test for the purpose of evaluating the long-term viability of using GroupCaller as one of at least 3 different marketing methods designed to support our Associates and provide an never-ending supply of inquiries to whom they can present our services and opportunity. This was a small campaign of only about 27,000 calls so it doesn’t do any harm in the over-all picture of the millions of phone numbers we’ll be calling during the next year. (Our current database has over 6,000,000 numbers to call.) Nonetheless, this test is statistically significant enough to begin drawing at least a few conclusions. By stripping the stats of the “No Dial Tone” results, we get a more accurate picture of what we can expect by upgrading our equipment and software.
In the second pie chart, the “ACTUAL RESULTS” we get a more accurate picture of what to expect. Of course, we’re STILL not even coming close to the optimum results from a good calling campaign. Please take note of the biggest section of THIS chart: “DISCONNECTED”. This big number comes from using an outdated list. Here’s what I find incredibly encouraging: The true conversion percent of 0.84% is plenty good enough to provide a never-ending supply of leads to those Associates who want and need them! And, based on our current closing percentage, we’ll make enough sales to people inquiring about GlobalTmail from this campaign to completely finance ourselves to the finish line for all the services under development at the present time!
