The new release date is December 29, 2014. We expect to begin Alpha Testing this week. Alpha testing is the phase in which company staff and those other invtited guests closest to the project begin using it and providing feedback to the developers. Their reports are critical in the testing phase. After successful Alpha Testing, we'll initially release the Beta version of the Income Tool. Users are asked to provide feedback and bug reports so we can correct any issues that weren't caught in the Apha test phase. This is how most software is developed. It's how all our products have been developed.
If there's one common thread among software developers and the products they create, it's the delay of release. Except for some of the biggest companies with nearly unlimited budgets and hundreds to thousands of software developers working on one project, very few companies can accurately predict a release date for their software. We're no different. Few things are more complex than software development, especially software designed to work "in the cloud". Provisions must be made for making many disparate platforms (the hardware) and non-related software programs work harmoniously together. This also means, even when there's a small development team (as in our case), many more non-in-house developers get involved to create their own piece of the puzzle to ensure the new product works well with their platform.
Such is the case with the Income Tool. This is a highly sophisticated mass communications tool, designed to transform the way online marketing is done. It brings a simple interface to the masses and enables nearly anyone and everyone to expand their personal network of contacts to include the contacts of THEIR contacts. This is a remarkable accomplishment.
Most of the primary modules have been tested. Last Thursday we discovered a bug in one of them and had to push back the start date, giving us time to fix the bug, thoroughly retest it and re-deploy it.
In the meantime, over the weekend, we completed most of the ecommerce module that allows customers to buy the income tool, one license at a time, or in bulk. It also allows bulk buyers to manage their licenses and assign those licenses to people as they see fit. The bulk license purchase provision was an after-thought, driven by the request of some of our customers who simply wish to buy many licenses, get a discount and distribute those licenses to their own sales teams. Their request has been addressed and you'll see it in the final version.
