Well, I decided to skip Friday, the 4th and final day, because I already accomplished the purpose of my trip. Also, my feet were KILLING me due to plantar faciitis. TIP: "NEVER" spend 3 days walking 8 hours a day with this condition. OUCH! Anyway, I posted some of the photos from the trip and put captions by them so you can see where we went.
There were several other interesting things this year at CES. Here are some that I found the most interesting:
- SUPERD by InfocusPhone: I've seen 3-D without glasses before at this show but NOTHING this effective. Looks like it's not available in the USA yet, but the technology actually finds your 2 eyeballs with your phone's camera lens, then makes the adjustment to 3-D by tracking your eye movements. It's STUNNING! Best 3-D "ever" on smart phones and tablets.
- Wocket: Like it or not, digital "everything" is coming, ESPECIALLY with financial transactions. Meet "Wocket". It's a physical smart wallet, not just a cyber-wallet. This is something i could actually see myself using! It stores ALL your info and encrypts it so nobody can get to it. Doesn't matter if you ever lose your wallet. You're SAFE (well, except maybe for the cash).
- LockPhone: This is a fully encrypted soft phone. In today's world where hacking is prevelant and common, it's not a bad idea to lock up ALL your communications.
- GoTenna: This essentially turns your smart phone into a super-walkie-talkie. NEATO! It also uses GPS to provide maps to where YOU are and where your contacts are. Primary use is when you're away from a cell tower, lose your signal, or maybe traveling in a foreign country. And all communications are (of course!) encrypted.
- Store-Dot Flasth-Battery: Charge your cell phone or laptop battery in 60 seconds? YEP! (sort of . . . )
But of course the BIG find this year is BitCoin. I'll be studying this technology during the next 30 days pretty intensively. It appears to be the best solution I have found for something I think has the potential to be a HUGE problem for us: Efficiently tranferring funds around the globe.
By using a Bitcoin system, we may be able to eliminate most of the cost of transferring funds, reduce or eliminate the service feel for transferring money (commissions & bonuses) and still provide direct bank deposits world-wide in whatever currency our Associate needs! You can expect to be hearing more from me about this within the next one to two months.
In the meantime, watch out! It's gonna be a rip-roarin' week!
